Why did I start a fashion and lifestyle blog you ask? Honestly, I had been thinking about starting a blog for about 2 years before I actually did it. A blog to me was the best platform to share my passion for fashion, chic styling ideas, life hacks and tips that could help other women to dare to live life with style without having to spend a fortune. It soon became a place where I shared about makeup finds, lifestyle tips, tricks, travel, motherhood and everything in between.

It all started at the end of 2016, at the time I had been a stay at home mom of my two boys for 7 years. I loved being with them and I would never want to change that; BUT, with both of them in school now full time I felt the need to do something that would allow me to connect with the rest of the world. A place where I could “talk” to other adults. I could have gone back to work my teaching job but after talking with my husband (who has supported me from the beginning), I decided to stay home. It was there and then when my blog, Simplement St. Onge was created. My own little sanctuary.

Starting it hasn’t been easy but without a doubt, it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have literately spent many hours figuring out everything there is about blogging. From basic web design to how to publish a post, I mean everything! It has been challenging however but I must admit that I am very proud of everything I have learned and created. Not only has it given me a platform to develop new skills, but it has also provided me with an opportunity to attend events and meet people I would never have had the opportunity to meet otherwise.

Being a mom blogger isn’t always easy either. In fact, trying to juggle everything can be quite challenging at times. One can feel really lonely at times and there is also a fear and doubt that creeps in as well.  I sometimes felt like I did not know what I was doing and there was no one to tell me if I was heading in the right direction. Part of the issue is information overload; if you need to be marketing your business through social media, it’s hard to avoid the mountains of information about how to run and market your business. So many directions to go in, so much to pull you off track, and so many hats to wear!

I also think work-from-home moms will always struggle with balance.  Yes, it can be easier than a strict 9-5 job in an office, but it comes with its own challenges. Concentration is one of these. Over time I have learned that I have to think creatively and positively to overcome the challenges that arise.

Blogging might seem so easy from the outside but believe me that a lot of work has gone into the creation of that post that you are reading. The blogger has spent many hours editing and perfecting that post for his/her readers. All that said…I would not stop blogging for anything! I love sharing my passions and hopefully helping others with my experiences and tips.

So to my dear readers, let’s use this platform as a place of support and encouragement.Let me know about something that you have done in your life that has been challenging that has brought you joy! I would love to hear about your experience and your journey.
