Do you love the idea of a denim dress but you’re not quite sure how to style one? Don’t worry, I got you covered! There are lots of different variations and washes when it comes to denim dresses. There are tight, buttoned, short, long and slouchy. But trust me, wearing denim dresses couldn’t be easier!
My ultimate favorite denim dress style is this Clayton Angie Denim Dress sold at Revolve. It’s button down detailing definitely makes a statement. I find that the best way for styling dresses like this one is with heels and bare legs. The contrast of the denim with any skin tone is fantastic. It makes one look slimmer and chic. So, for this dress I chose nude heels to keep the look toned down and casual, not too glammed. I also added some gold accessories and then layered on a cute cross body bag.
If that’s not your thing and you want to wear a denim dress in the cooler weather, or just don’t feel comfortable with heels or bare legs, you can always wear it with some leggings or tights, along with some cute boots or flats. You can also add a cross body bag, clutch and sunglasses.
There are multiple denim dress styles you might also like out there. Denim overalls (Dungarees) give you a more youthful and innocent look. The best way to wear an overall denim dress is layered over a chic t-shirt along with some wedges or flats. Keeping this style as casual as possible is definitely the way to go. You can’t really dress up an overall style dress to look classy. Another style that is common is the boho denim shift dress. This one reminds me of the 70’s since it features a tunic style fit. You can easily pair this style with bare legs and wedges in the Spring and Summer, then with knee high boots for the Autumn or Winter. And of course, if you decide on a smart or fitted denim dress style, you would wear that the same way you would wear your classic LBD, with heels and a clutch.
As you can see, denim dresses should not intimidate you, they go with everything! Now, go get yourself a little denim dress and rock it before summer is over!
Until next time!
